Before using CAVERJECT, talk with your healthcare provider about what to expect while using Caverject, about possible side effects, and about what to do if you get any side effects. Before using CAVERJECT, your healthcare provider should teach you how to prepare for and administer injections correctly. Your health care professional must show you how to prepare and give CAVERJECT correctly before giving it to you the first time.
Follow these instructions precisely to properly prepare your syringe for use, and correctly inject a sterile (germ-free) dose of CAVERJECT. See Dispose of Used CAVERJECT Syringes and Needles at the end of these instructions.
Syringes used for partial dosing should be discarded, as each syringe should only be used once. After mixing the one-time injection, that drug should be used immediately. Choose a different site for the injection every time this medication is used, to avoid any skin problems.
Ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist if you are unsure about how to use your injections. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about using the medicine. If you are unsure of the amount or the dosage you should use, talk with your doctor or pharmacist.
If you are using Tadalafil (Cialis) 5 mg a day, ask your healthcare provider how you should use that medicine with your injection. A health care professional will administer the first dose and instruct you on how to properly use Alprostadil on your own. After you start using Alprostadil at home, your doctor can slowly increase or decrease the dosage.
Alprostadil for sale injections should not be used more than three times per week, and should be used for at least 24 hours in between each use. Alprostadil pellets should not be used more than twice within 24 hours. Alprostadil can also be used for purposes that are not listed in this medication guide.
If you are using Bimix or Papaverine, you do not need to store your medicines in your refrigerator, because those medicines do not contain alprostadil. Remember, keep Alprostadil and all other medications out of the reach of children, never share your medicines with others, and only use this medicine for the prescribed indication. Before using this treatment alone at home, your healthcare provider will show you how to inject this medication.
Intraurethral Suppositories/Medicated Urethral System to Assist Erections (Muse) — Alprostadil may be used as an intraurethral suppositories or Medicated Urethral System to Assist Erections, but it has been shown to be less effective in inducing relaxation of the cavernous smooth muscles, as well as having more side effects, such as penile pain/burning, hypotension, and urethral hemorrhage. Alprostadil Intraurethral Suppository; Medicated Urethral System for Erection Should be avoided in patients with urethral obstruction, since its use may result in additional damage to the penis.
If you are using the injectables, but are having problems getting an adequate erection, talk with your healthcare provider about changing the drug, the amount of injectables, or the strength of the solution. You will not develop a tolerance, but because ED is progressive, dose adjustments are sometimes needed over time, especially for men who use injections for years.
